Starting out from a series of poems I have gathered throughout 2009 the project "Poemas de amor y cuerpo"('Love and Body Poems') tries to build a compilation of images and writings in relationship with a personal memory/story.
During the first stage of this work Elena Albert has been collaborating with me.
Through her eyes, the external gaze, from behind the camera, we have been working with the purpose of objectifying the emotive self in order to find the anonymity in my body and the possibility or impossibility of it.
By making photos and manipulating the image, we constructed a fictitious, ambiguous and open body for appropriation.
The body as one more object in a collection of replaceable things.
The piece created in 2009 was based on the exhibition of a series of images and writings, and on the inside relations generated by these series.
Continuing with the idea of accumulation and fragmentation, during this second stage of the work I will be focusing on the study of a collectable body in order to produce a piece of work in between exhibition and performance.
