After working on the hair as an interface between various tools of creation – dance, video, sound, light – and by weaving a sensitive link between the different media and creating an intimate show, Mutin continues on its pluridisciplinary and interactive exploration. The first steps we have taken will be pursued among the interlacing array of media we have at our disposal. By going even further in the development of interactive features as a subtle link with movement, we are working on expanded, non-digital and sensitive bodies. For this project, we are looking into the illusions of black, its power of absorption and the scenic depth this complex colour conveys and inspires. By exploiting the multiple layers of black, be it chromatic, physical or symbolic, we aim to disturb the viewer's visual acuity, offer illusions and immerse him or her in darkness to spark off an emotion.
"The bodies, marked by the cultural roots of black as a symbol, reveal our many intimate moods when facing black. Our body is in alert, hypersensitive, trying to perceive something it cannot see. Our anguished body is afraid of its own perceptions. Our androgynous bodies, revealing the duality of black. Our limp bodies, sinking into the quiet of night. The bodies of the night caught unawares by the darkest of forces, their animality. Our bodies absorbing each other like black absorbs and transforms."
