Mal Pelo's new production Open rehearsal of Mal Pelo's new production's creative process.
An (the silence) is a performance that is structured like a poem following the lines that
Jean Cocteau's text Visite has provided us with from the book Discours de Grand
Sommeil. Written during the First World War, the text tells the story of the visit of a
man who has died at the front and who is still living in a special state of transition,
which he takes advantage of to visit a loved one, perhaps even himself.
An is a space in which to live, a place where the references are the other bodies and the traces they leave behind. A game between the individuals of this group
who hardly remember why they are where they are.
"I have to announce some great news: I am dead.
This morning I can speak to you because you are sleepy.
Because you are ill, because you are feverish.
For us speed is much more important than it is for you...
I am not speaking about the speed that takes you from one point to another but the
speed that does not move
About speed itself..."
