Mal Pelo
( María Muñoz, Pep Ramis )

ico From the 18th January to 6th February the Mal Pelo team will be in residence at L’animal a l’esquena, rehearsing in preparation for the various projects that will be presented at the Mercat de les Flors, Barcelona, from the 11th to the 21st February. During this time María Muñoz and Pep Ramis, along with the group’s usual collaborators, will offer us a look at their most recent artistic work, full of encounters with other creators.
These performances are part of a collaboration that has now been established for several years between Mal Pelo and the Mercat de les Flors.

El quinto invierno/The Fifth Winter is a limpid choreographic poem, at once tender and powerful, constructed around the words of the Italian writer and poet Erri de Luca. Sober impressionism, purity of movement, a waltz between gravity and levity in this new piece, performed at the Biennale de la Val de Marne, in Canada, in Perpignan, at the Festival Grec in Barcelona, the Festival Temporada Alta in Girona and at the Théatre de la Ville in Paris.
11, 12, 18, 19, 20 and 21 February, Sal MAC.

Jordi Savall-Hespérion XXI & Mal Pelo
Istanbul is a place blessed by history: an extraorinary mixture of peoples and cultures, languages and music that go together to create the myth that now surrounds its name. Istanbul is a concert of highbrow music from the Ottoman period and Armenian, Sefardi and Turkish folk music. A fresh dialogue between musicians and dancers, an almost instananeous dialogue between physicality and the poetry of sound.
Music: Jordi Savall, Hakan Güngör, Haïg Sarikouyoumdjian, Dimitri Psonis, David Mayoral
Dance: María Muñoz, Pep Ramis, Jordi Casanovas, Federica Porello

In 7 Lunas/7 Moons Niño de Elche, a versatile singer-songwriter deeply committed to his social ideals and with a great capacity to mingle languages, will meet with María Muñoz to offer the public their particular improvised dialogue.
17 & 18 February, Sala Pina Bausch

Bach is a performance piece by María Muñoz based of a selection of pieces from the Well Tempered Clavier by J.S. Bach, in which dances to preludes played by Glenn Gould are combined with the memory of certain fugues danced in silence. Since its first performance in 2004, it has been performed over a hundred times all over the world. At the Mercat de les Flors Mal Pelo will present a new version of this piece, performed by Federica Porello, a Genoese dancer and creator based in Barcelona and Brussels.
