Unheimliche is at once a territory and a boundary. It is a circular reality whose extremes are joined by grotesque, invisible seams and in which wandering and settled bodies live side by side.
The definitions of the German term unheimliche include, on the one hand, “sinister and disturbing” and on the other “known and familiar”. Sigmund Freud used it to describe a contradictory experience in which something with familiar resonances seemed strange, the awakening of something that should have remained hidden and had been revealed.
The project is a laboratory where castrated bodies meet, with a last desire to feel themselves alive. Bodies in flight, bodies that have been denied, bodies in pain, bodies of clowns and monsters creating improbable connections between each other from a place where the old order has been undermined and there is as yet no new one to replace it.
Unheimliche has been born to learn how to name and be named.
