From 04/08/2016 to 07/08/2016
Marta Galán
Breve historia del futuro/Autoficción (Brief History of the Future/Autofiction) is a new writing project by Marta Galán Sala, who has been writing performance texts since 1999. The aim of this residency at L’animal a l’esquena is to carry out the first stage of research. The writing draws inspiration from the novel The Road by Cormac McCarthy, the film Time of the Wolf by Michael Haneke and the essay Brief History of the Future by Jaques Attali. The text is a dialogue between a father and his teenage son in a devasted land somewhere in Europe, in the midst of a context of extreme social, economic and humanitarian crisis. The residency will give the author the opportunity to concentrate intensively on her writing and to exchange views on the result with the team at L’animal a l’esquena and any members of the public interested in learning about the project. The final text will be presented at the PLAYWRITING CONTEST at the Festival Temporada Alta.
