Group LaBolsa
The Group LaBolsa was formed in 2012 by seven performers-artists, who shared common concerns in relation to investigation of movement based on scores. A part of the interest of this work lies in the fact that this method allows space for performers to apply their own creative intuition in a live performance.
The group’s aim is to organize meetings with choreographers who have been an important inspiration for the work and the artistic development of each of the members of laBolsa and at the same time are at the moment referential because of their own improvisation practice and performance language.
The first encounter organised by LaBolsa was with the choreographer Thomas Hauert, with whom they were able not only to learn and practice tools he and his company have developed but also use them to embark on the creative process for the piece La medida del desorden (The Measure of Disorder, 2015), investigating with him its potential as a composition on stage. Given the richness of this experience, LaBolsa is now proposing a new encounter, this time with María Muñoz and Pep Ramis of the company Mal Pelo, in order to start work on their new collective piece.
Mal Pelo is one of the guiding lights of the contemporary Catalan stage, for the craftsmanship of their performance and the singular poetic universe contained in their work. The aim of this Laboratory is to bring the laborious work of the performer to the surface, and the development of tools to allow him or her to enter a different artistic world.
