The research proposal for this project arose out of a personal interest in taking a closer look at two elements that are crucial to the artistic moment my work has reached now. The first is the relationship between the public and what is happening artistically, and everything that revolves around this dichotomy; the second is the way mixed and hybrid genres coexist in artistic constructs for performance.
Taking an active part in the postmodern world and living with this situation of social and artistic deconstruction, I find myself in a situation of continual adjustment between what I understand as an artistic event and my desire to find different kinds of relationship between the performance and the audience who come to a venue with their prejudices and habits acquired from a particular society at a particular time.
The idea of the project is to break down the barriers that separate the spectator from the performers, deconstructing not only the performance space but also the development of the piece itself. It speaks of the death of modern art in stubborn pursuit of originality, a mingling of forms, stylistic nomadism, mutant identity, artistic activism and political violence …
