MAYA TRIAY, MARIONA JAUME

ico Part of the Tapete Común programme for Casas de Creación (creative centres) in rural spaces. Collaboration between Eima Creació and L’animal a l’esquena.

Tapete Común is made up of:

Azala Creación in Lasierra, Vitoria: https://www.azala.eus/
L’animal a l’esquena, Celrà, Gerona: https://lanimal.org/
EiMA Creació, Maria de la Salut, Mallorca: https://eimacreacio.com/
A Casa Vella, Amiadoso, Orense: https://acasavella.gal/es/inicio/

Set up in 2015, Tapete Común has created a dialogue based not only on the programmes of each centre, but also in relation to what it means to reclaim and defend a creative space in small towns, as opposed to the cities that accrue most of the resources for performance production and research. Year by year, we have consolidated this program of communication and reflection.

NUS
A choreographic research that investigates knots: those that support, limit, sustain, and condition our bonds.

The piece exposes the inherent fragility of bodies, their emotional nakedness in the act of relating, meeting, and mutually engaging with one another.

The work weaves together vegetal, popular, and animal landscapes, constructing parallel realities where time blurs or loses relevance. The scenic research approaches, with almost scientific rigor, the study of alterity, of the self, and of the very creative act, until beauty twists, a mannerism bursts forth, and the process demands to begin again. The skin as a subtle meeting point, requiring attention and openness. Then a hug appears in all its forms: the one that sustains and the one that liberates, the forced one, the reconciling one, the dreamed one. Then the bodies stretch with pleasure, trust, and find balance, sharing weight and risk. They caress, confront, and rub against each other. They explore the union and separation of parts, recognizing and maintaining sustainability between the performers and the environment.

This piece is a co-production of the Teatre Principal de Palma. Premiere: February 14 and 15, 2026.
