Enric Montefusco
Singer, composer and multidisciplinary director. First with Standstill from 1997 until its dissolution in 2015 and then solo.
He has received much acclaim for his musical work, such as best Spanish record of the decade 2000-2010 for Vivalaguerra, according to the magazine Mondo Sonoro. In 2001 Rodrigo García asked him to put two of his pieces to music, thus starting his relationship with the world of performance art. Since then he has worked with dramatists such as Roger Bernat and Marta Galán, as well as choreographers such as Damian Muñoz. As time went by, directing his own pieces in many projects in different fields and disciplines, he has become an investigative artist, difficult to categorise but with a recognisable voice of his own. While taking a markedly multi-disciplinary line, he has worked particularly on the potential of music and performance art. As well as releasing 12 records (some of them also released in Germany, the US and Mexico), he has also published a book, directed a documentary and the four performance pieces of Standstill (Desencuentros, 123, Rooom, and Cénit).
As a solo artist, making his entry into popular culture in his own way, he produced his celebrated debut record Meridiana, and at the same time a large scale musical, Tata Mala to be performed by Los Corderos, Sonia Gómez and Los Cetreros de Barcelona. The show premiered to great acclaim (nominated for best new show at the Critics’ Awards). A year later he presented another show and EP at the Teatro Griego, Coros de Medianoche, with the collaboration of Albert Pla, Nacho Vegas, María Arnal, Niño de Elche and the Hermanos Cubero.
