( Eduard Fernández, Pep Ramis )

"2"project is an approach to the idea of duality.

"2"turns around the relationship between to men (Eduard Fernández and Pep Ramis) who in fact are the same person split in two. Inseparable, dependent, antagonist, fraternal, equal, absurd, choleric, both spend their time on absurd tasks like linking clouds or taking light beams... to nowhere.

This is another initiation journey full of worries like those by Godot or Mercier and Camier (Samuel Beckett).

The essential idea of the residence "2"at L'animal a l'esquena is to meet and try language and dramatic, movement and spatial mechanisms. That is, to build the work lines for the creation process of the piece for 2011. During those 9 days of residence, from December 9th to 18th, María Muñoz will be collaborating in the direction, proposing situations and working spaces, a study about some Beckett's writings and an external point of view of the interprets.

Eduard Fernández, María Muñoz and Pep Ramis have known each other for years and they have been following the other's trajectories and works, always with mutual complicity and admiration. There has been always a recognition on the other and the desire of working together in some project.

Both Eduard Fernández and Pep Ramis use a physical approach to materials and understand the stage in a rhythmic and intense way. It is this intensity what they want to give to the proposal, accompanied by the text and by a setting facilitating the interpreters' work they want to share.

On one side, Eduard Fernandez's approach as an actor is always very physical. On the other, Pep Ramis' approach as a dancer is always very theatrical. Both together create a very rich language.

The textual starting referents may be from authors like Beckett, Passolini, or Mammet but the text will be created by them, later improvised, distilled and written during the creation process. In the same way, they will work the physical and choreographic content from materials generated during the process
