Second edition of the interdisciplinary meeting L'ARREPLEGADA organized by the collective La Verema and L'animal a l'esquena.

For a second year L’animal a l’esquena will host L’ARREPLEGADA, a project by La Varema, a group of young artists from Celrà, which also includes artists from different artistic backgrounds in the area.
L’ARREPLEGADA is an arts event made up of a showcase for performance arts, an exhibition of graphic-plastic arts and music, with the aim of offering a space to share and learn about the work of young artists from the area. The gathering is intended to encourage creative communication between the participants, belonging to a range of creative disciplines and fields, and so promote the creation of a local artistic network. This event also aims to help raise awareness of the arts centre L’animal a l’esquena and its surroundings among the young people of the region.
For two weeks the collective will engage in various activities:
- Creation: For the first week, La Varema will hold a creation residency to develop the collective’s own artistic projects. The aim of this residency is to make a small sample/piece of work during the week, together with the collective Si Los Martes Fueran Viernes (SLMFV). There will be a public performance on the day of the ARREPLEGADA.
- Training: La Varema will invite the collective Si Los Martes Fueran Viernes (SLMFV) to give an intensive workshop over the weekend 15th-16th July, with a public display at 5pm on 16th July.
- Stimulation: During the second week, the collective will open up their research to other young artists, both from the world of performance and music, and from that of plastic and installation art. La Varema will prepare and organise the event and put artists in contact with each other so as to encourage creative exchange.
- Communication: On 22nd July, La Varema, with the support of L’animal a l’esquena and Cultura Celrà, will put on various events in and around L’animal. In 2023 L’animal will have the farm at Mas Espolla at its disposal as a space for creation and exhibitions. On this day it will be used to show the work of these young artists as part of a playful, festive event.
- This will consist of elements in various formats, such as encounters with the public, exhibitions, concerts and site-specific pieces, so as to promote communication between artists, organisers and the public.

La Varema is a group formed in 2021 by Sira Aymerich y Besalú, Gaia Magrané, Magalí Camps, Paula Ramis y Raquel Viñuales. After studying together at the Escuela Municipal de Danza de Celrà, they went their separate ways to pursue different educational and professional paths. Out of their occasional meetings to catch up over recent years, there grew a shared desire to gather together again as a group centred around work with the body and movement. Here they pool the ideas and tools they have each developed over the past few years.
