Mal Pelo
( María Muñoz, Pep Ramis )

ico El quinto invierno (The Fifth Winter) brings María Muñoz and Pep Ramis together again to create a new duet. In the course of this project the relationship will be revealed between two people and a space where they “wait in silence” for another winter to pass. The fifth. Their wait is accompanied by a series of games and strategies, filling the silence in an unexpectedly constructive way.

“…with hands deep into pockets, clutching hard
at all our warm clothes proof against any winter, down, way down in the basements of these buildings,
people are rushing to the rhythm of insects.
The winter has skidded underneath their feet,
stuck in the ground, in their every stride...”

Ahmed Nakib

The language of movement and concept of performance space of Pep Ramis and María Muñoz, the compositions and soundscapes of Fanny Thollot, the voice work of Alia Sellami in collaboration with Niño de Elche, the subtlety of Pep Aymerich’s constructions of objects, the costumes of CarmePuigdevalliPlantéS and the lighting of August Viladomat, combine to create the drama of this new Mal Pelo piece.
Jordi Casanovas will join us as assistant director, Neus Villà and Jordi Vila as general assistants in the every day work of the process. We will also have the artistic contribution of Vincent Dunoyer and words and poetry from the Neapolitan writer Erri de Luca.

The premiere will be on 7th March as part of the Biennale de la Val de Marne, France.
