Helena Pellisé, Guy Leon

ico The latest co-creation by Guy Leon and Helena Pellisé, Taking a walk, began with an investigation into the act of walking as an artistic form and initiator of dance. For this residency they aim to delve into, and investigate further the staging of body as a landscape, immersing themselves in the natural surroundings of L´animal a l´esquena. They will also lengthen their piece premiered in March 2014 at the Antic Teatre in Barcelona.

Taking a walk is a dance duet created to take dancers and audience on a journey into the imaginary, through the magic of instant composition. The dancers transform the stage into a poetic landscape of images and memories of their shared path, travelling through varied periods and emotional states. A journey of longing for nature.

Guy Leon and Helena Pellisé began their collaboration dancing in 2007 in Israel. Ever since they have developed their body and movement work around improvisation as a performance art and a educational tool. They have collaborated together in various platforms for improvisation such as CUE Barcelona, improLab and the company Los 3 nombres de un gato. They recently initiated a common methodology for their performace work, creating the solo Fragments de cos and their latest piece, the duet Taking a walk, co-produced by Adriantic/Antic Teatre.
