The starting point is to explore the spectrum of representations of the Devil in different cultures, with the aim of finding some underlying connection. This cross-cultural record makes us consider, firstly, our own frame of reference, rescuing the figures that have been regarded as “diabolical” since pre-hispanic times, from the devils in nativity plays to the dark western demons of the middle ages, from the profound shamanism of indigenous cultures to the vulgar satanism of teenage games, the chilling obscurantism of the Judeo-Christian devil to the colourful demons of folk dance.
