Heine Avdal
Heine Avdal studied dance, choreography and video at the Oslo National College of the Arts and at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels. He has worked for various companies in Norway. In 1997-2001 he worked with Meg Stuart's company Damaged Goods. Since 2000 he has been collaborating with Yukiko Shinozaki, founding their collective deepblue together with Christoph De Boeck in 2002. He also develops installation – performances such as "Sauna in Exile"(with Mette Edvardsen, Liv Hanne Haugen and Lawrence Malstaf), "Box with holes"and "drop a line". When making performances, Heine Røsdal Avdal starts from a non- hierarchical view on all elements involved. People, space and objects are seen as intermediate places where information is being collected, stored and re-materialised. He also questions how technology is being used in acquiring new meanings and perceptions on the human body and on our daily surroundings.
