Sandra Sotelo
An independent creator with a multidisciplinary academic background and physical practice, she focuses her research work on the body and movement, on their expressive, transformative and political capacities. Her parallel professional career working in conflict contexts in the Sahel, the Great Lakes and the Caucasus through humanitarian projects, and her current focus on the global impact of the climate crisis, runs through her artistic research interests. Interdisciplinary and intercultural dialogue are inevitably part of their daily practice, as well as the constant questioning of one-track thinking and the status quo.
Unheimliche and Arritmias are previous creations as result of joint work with other artists such as the musician Néstor Calderer. Recently, ecofeminist narratives have left their mark on the creation process of the Matrioshka project. This project was a finalist in the call for solos MM&I of the choreographic platform Paso 2 in Madrid last year, and was made in collaboration with Laura Carrau, Lídia Moraño, Karen Mora, Carmen Muñoz, Gloria Ros, NunArt and the Navas Civic Centre.
