Impromptu is the name of a project by Michèle Benz and Gaia Magrané, a Swiss-Spanish artistic duo. This residency comes in the early days of the project, which began just over a year ago. In it they will be exercising and developing their aptitudes and capacity for instant, spontaneous creation, with the listening skills needed to construct something interesting alongside everything that surrounds us in the here and now (objects, sound, audience, music, bodies …), to be played around with at their whim.

In every residency they focus on different physical aspects as training, whether theatrical or to do with movement, text or objects. In this way they build up their own way of working, partly based on oriental philosophies and practices such as Wu Wei or Zen.

They have been developing this project since the start of 2020, in various spaces and residencies including Civivox Iturrama (Pamplona), Projet H107 (Geneva) and Südpol (Lucerne).
