UN CUERPO SIN TALENTO Monte Isla ( Monte Isla ) L'animal a l'esquena (Celrà) From 10/03/2024 to 23/03/2024 Presentation : On 23/03/2024 at 19:00 in L'animal a l'esquena (Celrà) In Greek mythology, the titan Epimetheus is given the mission of inventing a natural shield for each of the newly born animals. So Epimetheus decides to give spines to the hedgehogs, poison to the snakes, ink to the squids, quick feet to the hares… Once he has finished his task, and after he has sent each and every one of the animals off to Zeus, he realises that he has forgotten one creature, the stupidest and clumsiest, to whom he has nothing left to offer as protection: the human, who remains naked and vulnerable against the hostility of the world. This project deals with the relationship between work and life, arising from a need to look into what lies hidden behind our artistic practices. What is at stake in the metaphysical deal that is implicit in the contract between the artist and society? Does society need the artist? Does theatre serve any purpose, does art? As well as artists themselves, Un cuerpo sin talento is also about work and how it eats up life, how every aspect of life is increasingly commercialised. It is about the body, the body that lives and works, a body that is alone and vulnerable due to the precariousness of its resources, the fragility of its existence, that uses technical ingenuity to broaden its prospects and defend itself against everything. |
