UN HURACAN AVANZA ALEGREMENTE / A HAPPILY ADVANCING HURRICANE SUSANNA BARRANCO ( SUSANNA BARRANCO ) L'animal a l'esquena (Celrà) From 10/04/2026 to 12/04/2026 Un huracán avanza alegremente is a hybrid performance piece that combines performance, audiovisual language and dance. The piece is based on a creation process shared between the director, who is also a performer, and Junco, a young man with functional diversity, who acts as co-protagonist and performer of his own experience. The starting point is a key moment in the life of Junco: taking part in his most important ever casting. Based on this real event, the work looks into questions such as desire, identity, intimacy and autonomy, focusing on the body as a space for possibility, vulnerability and strength. As suggested by Spinoza’s question, “no one knows what a body is capable of,” the piece explores what a body-person is capable of, who has often been seen in terms of limitation. The piece is built around the intimate dialogue between director and performer, who are also mother and son. This bond crosses the stage and gives rise to an open, honest and political conversation about desire as an act of affirmation, resistance and freedom. The voice and body of Junco are accompanied by others who have travelled this same path. Their experiences become a dialogue that questions, reaffirms and supports the existential questions that arise when you want to desire and to live in this present world with an intellectual capacity of 75%.
