L'animal a l'esquena (Celrà) From 26/09/2022 to 30/09/2022 Cesc Gelabert
( Cesc Gelabert )
This laboratory revolves around the model for a dancer that I have developed over my more than fifty years as a dancer and choreographer.
It centres around these questions: how to interpret a piece of choreography in a personal way? Whether your own work or someone else’s, in an improvisation context or more formal, so as to serve the needs of the choreography and so that, as performers, we feel it as our own, identify with it.
How to execute it? Indirectly, we shall deal with choreography, improvisation technique or other questions in relation to our profession.

| | ANATOMY AND MOVEMENT: how to improve movement and the recuperation of performers
L'animal a l'esquena (Celrà) From 23/02/2019 to 24/02/2019 Presentation : On 23/02/2019 at 11:00 in L'animal a l'esquena (Celrà) On 24/02/2019 at 11:00 in L'animal a l'esquena (Celrà) Sergi Plà
( Sergi Plà )
The design of the human anatomy, like that of any other animal, encourages movement and this therefore makes us healthy. The progressive loss of awareness of our own vital rhythms leads to badly co-ordinated, inharmonious and restricted movement. Understanding how our organism is structured will help us recover and develop a balanced body language.
From 11.00 to 18.00 at L’animal a l’esquena
Price: 70,00 euros

| | Teatro Bastardo (Bastard Theater)
L'animal a l'esquena (Celrà) From 04/09/2017 to 08/09/2017 loscorderos.sc
( loscorderos.sc )
In this workshop, David Climent and Pablo Molinero, loscorderos.sc, will look at the way they understand theatre as a creative act and at the performer as creator. The aim is to share their working method so as to approach creation in a non-frontal way, that is to say, not just from the idea, allowing each individual to develop this method within his or her own poetic vision.
In order to do this they will work on two fronts. On the one hand, they will develop and fine-tune the tools of the actor-creator through training: voice, body, hearing and spatial composition. On the other, they will look at creative work by making physical and textual material, working with guidelines on sound and space, with objects and on how to handle all these layers simultaneously to go beyond our own creativity.

Pep Ramis and María Muñoz offer an introduction to the working method they use in their approach to movement and to the idea and practice of pause-silence. From silence to movement through improvisation born of a chain of decisions in which life experiences, our senses and the possibility of imagining all play a part.
We shall spend five days on a specific study of some of the key aspects of how Mal Pelo understand movement and creation: the spine as a central axis, working from the extremities, perception of the architecture of one's own body in space, precision in writing, density and intensity, inhabiting gestures and movement in the present moment. This workshop will attempt to look more deeply into the use of the basic tools with which each of us confronts his or her limits and capacity.

Body Weather Laboratory USA is a non-profit organization
Body Weather Laboratory (BWL) is a research forum open to anyone interested in investigating expression through the body within different environments.
A demanding attitude toward a thorough reexamination of the body and movement is a main theme in all the aspects of the training. Originally founded in 1978 by Min Tanaka in Japan, BWL workshops currently exist throughout the world, expanding and reinterpreting the format for exploration. The workshop consists of three-parts:
1) MB Training: Rigorous mind/body, muscle/bone training; rhythmical and dynamic.
2) Body Manipulation: A series of specific stretching and relaxation exercises concerned with breathing and alignment. The work is done in couples, exchanging passive and active roles.
3) Body Weather: Explorations designed to sharpen focus and develop the scope of
expression through the body. The work encompasses sensitivity training and discovery of movement from images.

L'animal a l'esquena (Celrà) From 10/12/2012 to 14/12/2012 Lisa Nelson
( Lisa Nelson )
A multi-sensorial approach to the questions: what do we 'see' when we look at dance? what do we 'see' from within the dance?' The scores offer inner and outer communication tools and practices that make apparent the ways each of us sense and make sense of movement. Initiating a playful and rigorous dialogue-in-action about space, time, movement, and the innate desire to compose our experience. Performers/creators of all disciplines (dance, music, visual art, theater) are welcome.

| | PASSING THROUGH
L'animal a l'esquena (Celrà) From 09/10/2012 to 13/10/2012 David Zambrano
( David Zambrano )
We will be working toward defining a shared but invisible space punctuated by "pathways", the group of dancers creates its own dynamic, flexible and complex language without needing to designate a leader. Several bodies interact spontaneously and harmoniously, as though a single conscience were guiding them.
The passing through takes students through various exercises to manifest Zambrano's philosophy that movement needs no leader in creation. The students will create dynamics that will be flexible and complex at the same time, getting the group to fit tight together, yet always keeping doors open for the unpredictable. The group moves constantly, transforming the environment of the dance. The students work to see the room full of pathways – infinite pathways passing through the walls, the floor, the bodies. These pathways go in any direction and are filled with curves, large medium and small curves. Thus the passing through is created into a spontaneous composition. When the group becomes one mind, it can never get lost, it is always going some where. There is never one person leading or following, every one is leading or following, depending on the situation. The whole group is constantly traveling.
This workshop is very physical. Whoever wants to take it, she/he must know that we are moving our thoughts all day.

A workshop on desire, creation and edition of materials for stage. Writing, reading, meaning, time, silence, context, ritual, representation, aesthetics... will be some of the terms we will deal with and observe together. Others' desires and composition parameters are most surely not my own ones...
Each of us is a unique combination, a particular throw of dice, a manner in which life is presented. Life in each one of us is a degree of potency, it is not something fixed and given forever, but, something continuously becoming, growing and diminishing. These different movements of becoming are personal, they are not guided by identities.
"We are not all moved by the same precepts, nor will we feel attracted by the same concepts... Becoming is a process of desire". (G. Deleuze)

L'animal a l'esquena (Celrà) From 30/11/2009 to 04/12/2009 Julyen Hamilton
( Julyen Hamilton )
'For a number of years SPACE has been of central interests to me, both as performer/dance-maker and as teacher.
Its nature, how we perceive it, its emotionality and how it's inherent power in the theatrical setting enables the performer and audience to share sensation and imagination.
And in the VOICE work which is a radical element of my performances deals with the action of 'making silence' and using it both acoustically and visually. The work deals with the dual nature of 'silence' in terms of acoustics and vision.
In this week's workshop we will work with both of these elements, how they coexist within the action of making dances spontaneously.'

L'animal a l'esquena (Celrà) From 03/11/2008 to 07/11/2008 Lisa Nelson
( Lisa Nelson )
Performing artists of all disciplines welcome.
This research focuses on the physical base of the imagination. Composition, communication, and performance are the subjects. By altering the way we use our senses while moving and watching movement, we can begin to identify the genetic, cultural and idiosyncratic movement patterns our senses use to construct our experience. These patterns both inform our desire for action and what we see when we are attending to anything. Tuning scores offer tools for communication that cross disciplinary lines and give insight into and practice of performance and dance-making processes.
